An ocean of calm on the ethereum blockchain

For no other reason than ‘I think I can’, and ‘I’ve not done that before’ – I spent a couple of weeks creating my own NFT collection.

The name ‘Startledfish’ has been a personal friend to my family for over 20 years (reg: 2002), and quickly became our trademark – it’s used on our emails, and I’ve even named 3 sailing dinghies, 2 power boats and 1 yacht after it.

In 2022 I decided to release the name out into the world to begin its new journey of creating art, merchandising, fundraising, and initially to attempt to create an affordable collection of NFTs for the crypto enthusiast, collector and investor.

Well, I did it.

There is an initial collection of 10,000 what I call ‘Danglers’ (basically Angler Fish) that will launch on February 16th 2023 on the Fair.xyz network. Priced at 0.0009 Ethereum. Yes, we’ll make $145,000 when we sell the complete collection! Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m not in any way thinking that’s a possibility.

Why won’t they sell? Because I’ve done very little marketing! I’ve tried my best on social media, building a small community, Shilling as much as possible. I’ve even offered free Airdrops of 10 NFTs from the collection. This is extremely time consuming, hard work, monotonous and with little results, soul destroying.

Each Startledfish is unique and programmatically generated from over 200 possible traits determining its rarity. But what’s special about Startledfish is that the NFT itself doubles as a donation to help ocean cleanup projects around the globe.
